These painting presents young women dancing traditional dance from West Sumatra from Minangkabau culture. The dance is Tari Payung - Parasol dance and it is captured by the artist while he visited one village in West Sumatra.
‘’Whispers of Indonesian Memories’’
During my time in Indonesia, I immersed myself in the rich tapestry of their life, customs, and history. This cultural exploration sparked a passion within me to translate Indonesian culture into paintings. As both a painter and a dancer of traditional Indonesian dances, this project became a collaborative bridge between two art forms—dance and painting.
Inspired by the vibrant traditions, intricate motifs, vivid colors, and symbolic dance and music of Indonesia, I endeavored to capture every detail in my artwork. Through this series of paintings, I aim to help viewers discover and connect with the beauty of Indonesian landscapes, architecture and tradition.
